Per-Page Markdown
Every page on your site, also served as clean Markdown at its own URL.
What Is Per-Page Markdown?
Alongside your normal HTML page, AIO Radar serves a plain-Markdown version of the same
content at a matching .md URL:
https://yoursite.com/about-us/
https://yoursite.com/about-us.mdThe .md file has the same substance as the page — same words, same facts — just without
the navigation, sidebar, scripts, and theme markup around it. Nothing is added or removed;
the format changes, not the content.
Why This Matters
A .md version of each page gives an assistant clean text instead of your theme's markup, so
it quotes you accurately.
Why Bots Read Markdown Instead of HTML
A raw HTML page is mostly not your content. A typical WordPress page ships navigation
menus, footers, cookie banners, related-post widgets, and script tags — a bot has to strip
all of that out before it can read the part a human actually came for. Markdown skips the
guesswork:
| HTML page | Markdown page |
|---|---|
| Navigation, header, footer included | Just the page content |
| Scripts and styling mixed into the DOM | Plain text and structure only |
| Bot must parse and discard boilerplate | Bot reads content directly |
| Rendering cost per fetch | Near-zero parsing cost |
This is the same reason llms.txt and llms-full.txt exist: the less a crawler has to
guess, the more accurately it represents you.
Not Cloaking
The Markdown file is served to anyone who requests it — a browser, a script, a crawler —
at its own disclosed URL. It is not shown instead of the human page or gated to bots only;
it is an additional, published format of the same page. See
ADR 0005 for the no-cloaking rule this follows.
Viewing a Page's Markdown
From the Plugin
Every page listed in AIO Radar → Content → Markdown has a View as AI button that
shows exactly what a crawler receives, including the .md URL and a copy-to-clipboard
button.
Directly
Append .md to any published page's URL:
https://yoursite.com/your-page-slug.mdCoverage
The Markdown tab shows how many of your pages are currently serving a .md file. A page
shows as not serving until it has been synced at least once — that's "not detected
yet," not "off."
